Our wedding songs

After the wedding ceremony of course comes the reception. One of the most important dances that will ever happen in our life will always be our first dance. We chose to dance to 'How Sweet It Is to Be Loved by You' by James Taylor. This song was played by our amazing band 'Uncle Sam'.

My father and I danced to the all-time favorite Motown classic, 'My Girl'. Something I have always wanted at my wedding reception is a band, not only for the live music, but also so that they could play a song for my dad and me to dance to. Ever since I've seen the movie 'Father of the Bride', I knew that I wanted a special moment with my dad after he had just given me away, just the two of us, because in this specific movie the character George Banks (Steve Martin) never got to see and talk to his daughter Annie Banks (Kimberly Williams Paisley) after she got married. It wasn't until Annie was boarding the airplane to leave for her honeymoon did George ever get to talk to her. I didn't want this to happen to me and my dad the day of my wedding.

The groom and his mother danced to the Van Morrison classic, 'Tupelo Honey.' This song choice was actually chosen by the groom. Having been a long time Van Morrison fan, he knew that this was the song he wanted to dance to with his mother.

Honeymoon destination?

Yes, the day after our wedding we were scheduled to go to St. Lucia. Unfortunately, our connecting flight from Miami to St. Lucia was canceled due to Hurricane Isaac. We did end up going to St. Lucia three weeks after our wedding and it couldn't have been more PERFECT!! I think the delay in us getting to go was fate. By this time, we had fully relaxed from all the wedding stuff and could FULLY enjoy our honeymoon.
